United World Schools (UWS) works in some of the world’s poorest regions to give every child access to free education. We partner with local communities and supporters around the world to establish schools and teach the unreached.

We believe in a world where all children have the chance to go to school. Since 2008, we have reached over 35,000 children across Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal, empowering them to reach their full potential and break out of poverty. Our goal is to reach 50,000 children with education by 2021.

Working in the US

At United World Schools, our global team works in remote and marginalized communities in some of the world’s poorest regions to give every child access to free education. Free from any political, religious, or cultural affiliation, we focus on uniting the world’s underserved communities with a global network of supporters to teach the unreached.

Unmatched in the regional size and growth: our schools and learning facilities have reached more than 200 communities throughout Cambodia, Nepal, and Myanmar. Our goal is to reach over 50,000 students by 2021.

Unique to our model: schools throughout Europe, the UK, and North America are recruited as Partner Schools to support and engage with counterpart schools within the developing regions we reach. This relationship instills a spirit of service within our student-partners, and provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience and understand the challenges families face in out-of-reach communities.

Unconditional approach towards community development: we combine our primary mission of education with other vital universal community needs, such as clean drinking water, sanitization facilities, entrepreneurship trainings, and leadership development tools for local leaders, families, and educators.

As we seek to become the world’s preeminent NGO focused on teaching the unreached, we’re launching our US 2020 Initiative. In the coming years, we aim to unite the United States’ corporate, philanthropic, foundation, and government funding communities to raise $10,000,000 in new capital by 2023. Together, we will build hundreds of new schools, reach tens of thousands of new students, and transform communities around the world.
