Sofeena Lalani Sofeena joined United World Schools in early 2020 and leads global fundraising and marketing. She has responsibility for income generation, brand, content, and marketing. Sofeena brings significant experience in marketing, communications and fundraising. Sofeena previously worked for global charities including the British Red Cross, Oxfam GB, BRAC, Islamic Relief and VSO. She completed her undergraduate degree at Hull and her Master’s Degree in International Development at the University of Sussex. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Before her young family arrived, she served on the Board of Action for Children in Conflict. Sofeena is an advocate of public-private partnerships and has substantial experience in building strategic and innovative partnerships across a range of social issues and markets. Throughout her career, which commenced in higher education international marketing, she has developed brands and marketing communication strategies to engage diverse stakeholder groups to deliver key business objectives. Outside work, Sofeena enjoys languages, playing Netball and supporting the local club. She can often be found cheering on her daughter beside a netball court.
