Current partner schools

Every one of our Partner Schools shares our commitment to providing education to children around the world. Our partnerships come in all shapes and sizes from charity of the year and annual fundraisers, to long standing relationships with schools.

START YOUR UWS STORY

"UWS Cambodia has empowered our students to take part in something that is real…they see the difference they make, and take pride in it.” Jon Cooper, Red Maid's High School

Need inspiration for a great fundraiser? Here are some stories from a few of our current partner schools, sharing what they have done to help teach the unreached.

In the UK, Bryanston School's annual charity fundraisers were spectacular, with a vast range of activities taking place. These included a silent auction, a dog show, a parents lunch, a photography exhibition, and awesome concerts. It also saw the introduction of the Whole School Challenge, where over 600 students and staff from Bryanston organised and took on a challenge. Inspired to make a difference, challenges included swimming the equivalent distance to crossing the English Channel, rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, and climbing Mount Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. Teachers at the school remarked that it was wonderful to see a united Bryanston family raise enough money to fund the building of two UWS schools!

Hannah, a Year 8 student at Redmaids’ High School in Bristol, UK cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of UWS. In her blog, she said,

‘The final mileage is 971.59 miles in 18 days (okay, 17 and a half days!) with a massive 44,170 feet climbed in total (that's a lot of hills!!!). The shortest day was 38 miles and the longest 68 miles. We’re about 29 miles short of 1000 which is bugging me and dad as well so we’ve already talked about going out and finishing off that distance. Not tomorrow though - tomorrow is a family day with no cycling and lots of relaxing! I have also 'almost' doubled my fundraising target so I'm now hoping to build a football pitch with a fence at Jong school, Cambodia (which was another of UWS targets for this year) as well as train 4 teachers.’

Students at Redmaids’ High School have been so inspired by fundraising that many have decided to research topics such as medicine in the developing world and the Khmer Rouge regime as part of their Extended Essays (IB) or Extended Project Qualifications. In addition, a number of students have volunteered with UWS on gap year programmes or after university.
