March 2018

Across the world, too many children don’t have access to an education. In 2018, 61 million primary school age children are denied the right to go to school (UNESCO), they are denied the right to learn, and they are denied the right to transform their future through education. With the help of Educate a Child (EAC)we want to change this.

I say, give me 10 reasons why educating the world’s out of school children can wait, and I’ll give you 10 million  reasons why it cannot”
Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, UN SDG Advocate and Founder and Chairperson of Education Above All (EAA) Foundation

Since 2016 we have been working in partnership with Educate A Child (a program of Education Above All Foundation) to change this story of educational injustice that is being told across the world. So far they have supported us to build schools in Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal, visited our projects, connected us with like-minded organisations, and inspired us to go on our journey to transform 50,000 lives through education.

Educate A Child hosted us in New York last month to celebrate the major milestone of 42 educational NGOs collectively pledging to enrol 10 million out of school children into education. Our Cambodian Country Director, Nan Sitha, was joined by CEO Tim Howarth and Board Chairman Chris Outram to represent our work alongside industry-leading organisations from around the world.

It was a momentous occasion that highlighted the hard work and commitment of organisations around the world who are dedicated to putting children into school. Co-organised with UNICEF, the summit also revitalised the discussion around how the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be achieved through the power of education on individuals, their communities, and their countries.

We are proud to be partnered with Educate a Child and part of the journey to put 10 million children into education. #ItIsPossible
