We are very excited to announce that Change Group, long-standing supporters of United World Schools, recently formed a new partnership with UWS Koh Key School in Cambodia.  The funding for the school ceased in November, and Change Group agreed to step in and provide a quality primary education to over 100 previously out-of-school children. By covering the annual running costs, partnerships such as this help to ensure the sustainability of our model.

UWS Koh Key serves a medium-sized community in the Ta La Borivat district of Stung Treng province, northern Cambodia. The school was built in 2017 with the support of the Guernsey Foundation. On the whole it had a successful inaugural year, but UWS staff and teachers are already looking to the year ahead and all the exciting projects on the horizon.

With the support of Change Group, we will improve the quality of teaching through regular training workshops, expand the playground, recruit a new community teacher and build a school fence at UWS Koh Key. Fundraising has already got off to a flying start with David Rothensein, Head of Learning and Development, already embarking on the Brighton half marathon to raise money for UWS.

With such high levels of enthusiasm and commitment, we’re excited to see where this partnership will go in 2019!

Thank you to everyone at Change Group for your ongoing support and helping us to teach the unreached.
