United World Schools (UWS) is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of some of the world's poorest children through education. It works in remote regions of Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal to give every child access to free education, partnering with local communities and supporters around the world to ‘teach the unreached’.

UWS has a high-impact, low-cost model for building schools and providing education in remote and marginalised communities. To date, it has worked with more than 220 communities across Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal to give children free, safe and effective schooling. Since 2009, it has reached over 36,000 children with education, and is set to reach tens of thousands more over the next few years.

UWS' purpose is to get such children into primary level education to teach them to read, write and count, and impart basic skills to allow them to participate in their local economies. It achieves this goal through the building of simple and fit-for-purpose schools in these remote communities. It also commits to managing the running of these schools to ensure ongoing access by these children to education. Collaboration is at the heart of everything that UWS does. It works with communities, governments and partners to deliver free education that is effective and sustainable.

This role will play a crucial role supporting our partnerships with schools and major donors. Working with the Associate Directors and other colleagues, you will keep our supporters updated on our programmatic work whilst supporting them with their fundraising efforts.

The charity has been instrumental in cultivating partnerships with over 100 schools globally, and currently receives generous support from a pool of established major donors. You will ensure these partners feel supported, engaged and inspired by UWS and our work.

Demand for UWS is increasing, there are over 258 million out of school children globally and we need to grow our income in order to meet this need. So we’re launching an ambitious programme to achieve a step change in our income over the next 3-5 years.

To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of the UK education system. Additionally we are looking for someone who is a confident communicator both to children and adults, and is able to switch between the two to communicate clearly and effectively the mission of United World Schools regardless of the age of the audience.

We are looking for an ambitious candidate to grow and develop with the role. This means that above all, we are looking for someone who is open to developing their knowledge and can take a proactive approach to new tasks and developing our partnership offer.
