Associate Director, Programme Funding (reporting to the Director, Funding & Partnerships and line management responsibility of x 1 Senior Associate). 


UWS offices in Vauxhall, London (team currently home working, flexible working options considered)

£40k - £50k dependent on skills and experience, plus 4% pension contribution.

Role Summary     

Do you want to use your skills in donor engagement, business & proposal development and consortia building to play a vital role in supporting remote communities access education for the first time? Join us as Associate Director and play a leading role growing restricted funding from a range of sources including Trusts, Foundations & Institutional donors, and increase the expertise and capability of our local teams working on resource mobilisation. 

We are looking for an experienced individual with strong networks of partners and donor relationships, and an understanding of global donor trends. You will play a vital role, driving forwards our ambition to unlock institutional funding, working with country programmes to diversify the scope and scale of new donors. Access to institutional funding is a key part of our strategy; you will support expansion into new countries and play a critical role in building the profile of UWS with donors and drive forward dynamic and proactive donor engagement strategies.

Key Relationships (including, but not limited to):

We are looking for a strategic networker with the ability to identify and transform opportunities into tangible results. As someone with a strong relationship management and business development background, you will have significant expertise and knowledge in the ways of working of donors including Trusts, Foundations and Institutions. 

This role sits in the the Funding & Partnerships team and leads the portfolio which includes Trusts & Foundations, supported by a Senior Associate (line managed by this role). You will both work closely with the Programme Development & Education Adviser, Global Programme Director, country programmes, and the finance team to research and analyse opportunities, develop donor engagement plans and develop successful proposals to maximise and secure funding.
