One of our newest projects, the construction of UWS Ka Narng Ket School was completed this summer. The school will officially open for its first term in October 2014, with three classrooms, solar power, a well, toilets and a teacher house.
We are very excited by this new school, which has already held a four-day education project with support from Concultures, Germany. Good fun was had by all, including UWS Chairman, Chris Outram.
Our initial priority for UWS Ka Narng Ket School is to embed the school within the wider village community. This means supporting families to develop the habit of attending school and making the school facilities as well resourced as possible. We will be equipping all students with their own UWS school bag, containing an exercise book, basic stationery and crayons for drawing.
UWS Ka Narng Ket School will be supported in partnership with the Lumphat Office of Education. Mr Yorn Dany with take on the responsibility of educational development in this area.
Thanks to the fundraising support of pupils, staff and parents at St Christopher’s School, Bahrain, preparation for the new academic year is well underway. We’re looking forward to working with St Christopher’s School to further support the development of the Ka Narng Ket community.
