On the 17th November, UWS held our second Annual Gala Dinner. The evening was in support of our Transforming 50k Lives campaign to raise the core funds needed to support our central growth which will mean we can reach thousands more marginalised children who are out of school. The night was a great success, raising over £100,000 through the generous donations and bidding of our 180 guests.
The event was hosted in the Globe Theatre on the Southbank, London, which was a fabulous setting to inspire us with the value of learning to read and write. Thanks to Sandrine Jensen and her team the Globe was transformed for the evening into a beautiful setting for dinner.
The live auction was a real highlight of the evening with auctioneer Nic McElhatton and UWS Global Ambassador Charley Boorman forming quite the double act to help auction off a superb range of prizes donated to UWS: from four nights in a luxury Moroccan Riad to a dazzling Jenny Packham dress.
It was, however, the generosity of all our guests which made the event such a success. Thank you to everyone involved!
