Be the change this #GivingTuesday.Support our Gift of Reading campaign
What is #GivingTuesday?
Once the commercial fever of Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, #GivingTuesday is an altogether more altruistic affair. Since 2014, millions have been raised for charities as people across the globe participate in a day of giving. What better way to kick off the festive season than with a generous helping of goodwill?
How you can help UWS
This year’s #GivingTuesday falls on November 28th and it coincides with the launch of our Gift of Reading Christmas Campaign. United World Schools are asking for your help to stock classroom and fill libraries with brand new books.
Why give the Gift of Reading?
A book is a wonderful present for any child. But for UWS School children in Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal, the Gift of Reading can make a world of difference.
£150 stocks a school library with reading books
£500 can buy school books and resources for a whole year
£1000 covers a local teacher’s annual salary so 30 more children can learn to read
Our schools give children who might never have seen a book before the education they deserve. They learn to read, write and speak the national language of their country, opening up economic opportunities that would not otherwise have been possible.
Get involved and start fundraising to share the Gift of Reading
Whether it’s a second hand book sale, a Christmas jumper day or a Mince Pie tax, we look forward to hearing about your fundraising efforts.
