What is a School Partnership?
Through school partnership we can transform the lives of 50,000 out-of-school children by 2018. Each of our Partner Schools are twinned with a specific UWS Community School serving some of the poorest communities on earth.
Our partnerships are reciprocal and tailored to suit your students and your UWS Community School.
Why Get Involved?
See the impact: We offer your students the life changing opportunity to visit their own UWS School. To experience a very different world, and lead teaching in the community they have helped support.
Enhancing your curriculum: A partnership with UWS can bring real educational benefits to your school. We offer assemblies as well as educational materials for subjects including Geography, Economics, Citizenship and RE. We also support CAS work for the International Baccalaureate, coursework and university entrance applications.
Bringing the curriculum alive: By ensuring that your school is partnered with a specific UWS School, we offer more than just an anonymous example. Through this intimate partnership, your students are able to understand the background, history and culture of a very different community.
Develop leaders: Students take ownership of the fundraising and further developing their commitment, empathy, responsibility, and leadership skills.
Global Citizenship: UWS recognises and awards your schools commitment with Global Citizenship badges. These offer a flexible framework to meet the age and needs of your students.
Stakeholder recognition: Parents and school inspectors have been overwhelmingly positive about UWS partnerships, citing both the benefits of primary school students witnessing and being a part of effective philanthropy, and the attractiveness of this unique learning experience.
“UWS Cambodia has empowered our students to take part in something that is real… they see the difference they make, and take pride in it.”
Jon Cooper, Red Maids’ School Bristol, Jong Partner School
“The teaching and engagement of pupils is fabulous and it is wonderful to see the school in action.”
Alexandra Cross, CAS Coordinator, Portsmouth Grammar School, Chai Thom Partner School
